Perhaps I expected too much? I bought this on a lightning deal on impulse. I wanted more than one but only one was possible...c'mon! It is not as bright as I expected. The claim on Amazon is 180 watts equivalent. The claim on the box is 300...so which is it? To my eyes, it is a bit brighter than a typical 100 Watt incandescent, but the colour temperature is much cooler. Anyway, I'm glad I bought it as it provides a reasonable amount of light in my basement storage area...far better than the CFL it replaced, If it lasts as long as they say maybe I'd give it another half star. Update: Down to 2-stars due to correspondence received from the vendor objecting to my 3-star review. The writer claimed to be a new employee who might be fired and that by bumping my review up to more stars I might help save her job. Moreover I was offered a rebate for doing this. This is not how I do business...I call them as I see them. Despite having a decent product, the company's practices, or at least those of the person who wrote me, are a bit less than honourable.
