I had read many of the reviews but since my waist is 36 -38, I ASSUMED it would fit since the website says up to 50 inches. "up to" is what it will fit. Facts: The belt is 42 inches from tip to tip. Because it has Velcro, you need approximately 4 inches for overlap the first overlap. That being said, you deduct 4 from 42 and you end up with 38. But there is a second overlap which deducts a couple more inches. And since you need a inch here or there due to clothing or your spine structure, I would say 36 INCHES WITH CLOTHING IS THE MAXIMUM I WOULD ASSUME TO FIT CONFORTABLY. The stretching material is about 1/2 inch wide and you would really have to work on it to get fifty inches out of it. I should have listened to the other reviewers but since I am a 36-38, I thought it would work. I am returning it for a refund. To Bad, it seemed like a good product.
