I've been at this computer thing for a while. I have owned any number of mice, trackpads, and trackballs (anyone remember Missile Command?). Let me start by saying that the tracking on this mouse makes using it more positive, especially on a pad. That said, some comments. First, this mouse is very flat. While a low profile is aesthetically pleasing, you have to slightly decelerate your hand before holding the mouse. Otherwise, you'll activate either the physical button, or the virtual scroll (which moves the page you're looking at). This is an irritation every time I touch the mouse. The design encourages you to palm it, which is great, it's very comfortable once you've decelerated. However, because of the grip and my hand size (fingers for a piano) the middle finger rests on exactly where the divider for left and right mouse clicks go. This means that a right mouse click will not register unless lifting my middle finger off the device. Imagine a slight irritation every time you right click. Finally, this device is symmetrical front to back with the Apple logo at the bottom. The reason it's easy to mistake using it upside-down is because the logo acts as a visual cue for action, which is exactly the opposite of the way this device works. Also, it does not pair automatically in Bootcamp. It is nice-looking, its coating shines in the light, and it has a striking aluminum build at the bottom. The build is invisible in normal use. The reason I still use it is because it supports gestures using a gliding motion instead of a physical wheel. In a way, it's a piece of art. But it's not a marvel in design.
