Lid does not close, Seller refuses to offer refund past "policy" date
I ordered one of the file boxes hoping it would pose a good storage alternative, knowing that the reviews were a bit hit or miss - now I wish I hadn't. The look of the box is great, and allows you to keep it out in plain view if needed and is aesthetically pleasing. I was super excited when I received it - but the reality of it is, the files do not fit. I have standard files, and the bars that they hang on are simply too high and it prevents the lid from closing, even without the labels. I left a heavy book on top of the box for about 5 weeks to see if it would shape the box and make the lid stay shut, but the moment I opened it again, it wouldn't stay shut anymore. The lid stays open a good inch. In addition, the bottom of the frame has some really rough edges, and scratches the furniture when you pull it in and out of a shelf.
What left an especially bad taste in my mouth was the company's unwillingness to process the refund for me. I purchased in December, and with the holidays/travel didn't actually put it up until early January. I then left a heavy book on it for a while to see if it would fix the box, and it didn't work, unfortunately. I'm now 20 days past their holiday return policy, and because of that, they are refusing a refund. If this was an Amazon sold item, they wouldn't bat an eye before processing the refund. The item is known to have this issue, as others have stated many times, and clearly does not fit the files as shown with the labels and regular file type (I'm not about to spend another $15 bucks to buy low-hanging files). Admittedly I'm past the return policy as I was trying to see if it would work overtime, but still the company refuses a refund due to a simple "policy" reason. That's a real lack of good faith on a product they know has a defect.
