Was happy then not after buying Ninja Coffee Bar CF092 while on ...
So glad I bought the Ninja Coffee Bar CF092 while on sale. I hesitated after reading C-Net's review, but thought about how many times I have not agreed with their critiques. I own espresso machines, several different coffee pots, and specialty brewers; admittedly I am a coffee snob. Like others who expressed their views of this wonderful system, the Ninja Coffee Bar certainly does not look cheap at all. The workmanship is quality, and it looks great on my countertop. I find this system easy to use. The settings for coffee size and brew light up, and I find this almost intuitive to use. I'll admit my first cup of coffee was a disappointment, kind of bitter with an aftertaste of bitterness, but that was the user's fault (me). It really depends on the brand and strength of coffee you use. I played around with different amounts of coffee before I hit on a really smooth enjoyable cup of Joe. Keep in mind taste is relative ; ) The specialty brews are not espresso laden brews made with 15 bars of pressure. However, I have made some sweet tasting Caramel Lattes and Vanilla Mocha Lattes using my new Coffee Bar; so yummy. I'm not a fan of syrups, and prefer to use good sauces (Caramel sauce for instance, and Wegman's brand is so good.... just zap in microwave prior to brewing a cup of specialty brew to soften a bit, and brew over, then stir. Top off with your froth). The Frother works great and produces a much better froth than you can get from a Tassimo or Dolce Gusto. Ok, its not steamed, but I rather love the fluffy froth that stays on top, and although its not steamed, it tastes the same. You can choose any kind of milk you want to, in fact I used plain eggnog for a warm holiday coffee or, if you are not driving, froth up a good brand of Spiked Eggnog. Sometimes I add a bit of real vanilla Extract to my milk before frothing. When this is said and done, I do not notice that much of a difference between brewing a Latte with The Ninja Coffee Bar vs brewing a latte using an expensive Espresso machine. I'm very happy with this purchase. Of course, time will tell about the endurance of this product. I'll update as time goes on.
Edited 2/20/17. Just 3 months after purchase, all of a sudden my coffee bar is brewing half pots set at classic brews & full pots. I use the clean cycle every two weeks to keep my coffee at optimal taste, i also use filtered water. I Put the coffeebar through clean with white vinegar, as per the forums trouble shoot recommendations -- clean 1 minute, pause 30 min., then clean. Did 2 times. So far the problem is still occuring....1/2 pots on full brew cycles. I'm laid up due to surgery, cant go anywhere for 2 more months, and I miss my Ninja coffee.... Although I rate the coffee bar highly, I'll need to lower the ratings stars due to performance over time. Edited again to add. The problems I’ve had with my Ninja coffee bar were also encountered by others. Considering the cost of the machine this is not acceptable. I took the plunge and bought a Delonghi 3300 Espresso Machine direct from Delonghi for the 2 year warranty for specialty coffees and a well rated Mr Coffee for regular coffee.
