Bias's Clear in Text- stick to facts this does not
Every lie you were ever taught in school and had to unlearn later with real actual facts and evidence etc is in this. Misquoted presidents? This has them. 'diversity is a virtue' is a direct quote from inside this book. A note for whoever wrote and whoever sells this book. Diversity for the sake thereof is anything but virtue and is usually not true 'diversity' anyway. Having people who look different but think the same is not diversity. There is something called 'intolerant tolerance' and it is a bit of irony in of itself. At first, we made discussions of them and they spurred a lot of lessons and diving into real source material that proved it wrong but then it just got exhausting and we just left it out of our curriculum entirely. Do not use this book! It is inaccurate and misrepresents a lot of culture and history! (For instance, a lot of our founders were actually agnostic- there is documentation to show that they were not Christian and the pilgrims did not go to church every Sunday etc- I mean are you kidding me? maybe the Christian pilgrims but some(a lot) weren't christian at all- it was not part of being a pilgrim itself and even a lot who were did not 'go to church every sunday'). I could dive into the abyss full of misrepresentations and flaws in this book but I'd be writing novels of corrections longer than the book itself just to give the proper context. We stopped using this book to supplement our history and social studies lessons fairly quickly. I just didn't get around to reviewing until now. Find source material books and another book to use worksheets our of or make your own but never rely on this trash.
