Bought a set of two drives, one failed and went into write protected mode. According Sandisk customer support: "Write protection errors occur when a flash drive detects a potential fault within itself. The drive will go into write-protected mode to prevent data loss. There is no method to fix this. To verify the issue is related to the flash drive and not your computer we recommend that you try plugging the USB drive into another port on your computer. You should also try the drive on another computer if possible." Of the many flash drives that I've used over the years, this is the second drive that failed on me and also happened to be Sandisk. The first one had some corrupted memory sectors so my linux boot disk will not install. Ironically, I bought these drives to replace the one that was bad. I give it two stars for the one drive that is still working and will RMA the bad one. UPDATE 6/29/18: Returned the bad one and got a replacement from Sandisk. Trying to burn an iso and suprise!!..once again it is in write protected mode. So this is 2 for 2 in which I will drop from 2 to 1 star. I'm going to eat the cost just to throw these drives into the trash can.
