What I purchased the Corded Cyclonic Stick in January looked as though it would fit my needs perfectly. However, in late July/early August, the motor gradually stopped being effective at all. It made loud growling noises, but would not pick up anything. I cleaned it thoroughly, checked for clogs, and tried again. Same thing. I called Hoover to see what they would do under their two year warranty. They said I had to take the vacuum to a dealer in the Bronx (VERY difficult in New York City and public transportation) - PLUS I am a senior who just couldn't make that trip (basically 3 hours roundtrip). They finally agreed to have a dealer in my neighborhood evaluate the problem, and to fax the estimated repair estimate to them -at which point they would either approve the repair and pay for it, or supply me a new vacuum. When I arrived at the dealer, CROWN SERVICES, 2792 BROADWAY, he refused to even consider making an estimate until I paid him $32.50 up front - this is for a $70 vacuum (which would NOT be included in he number he sent to Hoover). I came home, and will have to purchase a new vacuum. Needless to say, it will NOT be a Hoover. I notified Hoover of these details and they said they would enter them in the file and wished me a good day. THAT'S IT. Be cautious about your Hoover guarantees. This has been a frustrating and altogether unsatisfactory experience.
