We actually used these as part of my daughters science experiment. We took fresh fruits and veggies and put them in theses and "green bags" and recorded which one kept food fresh for the longest time. It was hands down the green bags these containers had mold growth inside them well before the green bags exhibited any deterioration of the food inside. You can buy quite a few green bags for the price of these containers and they work way better.
