Cons: I'm a medical doctor, and I bought the Kindle Fire because I was planning on using it to download my PDF format medical books. Although I am able to view the books, I'm unable to search or highlight the books. It's pointless to have a 500-1000 page reference that you can't search. The only way to get these options is to email the file to an Amazon email that they create for you. It will convert the file to the Kindle format for an outrageous fee per Megabit (~$.99) if it is under 50MB. If its more than 50MB you're shit out of luck. I have literally spent the whole day and night, researching this and talking to customer service by email and on the phone just to end up feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had to explain the same thing 3-5 times over to the customer service rep, there was some kind of language barrier with this foreign based help I received. I've wasted my time and money on this device for the purpose I bought it for. The whole thing is set up to keep pumping money into Amazon by forcing you to pay money for every little thing. They want you to buy a yearly subscription to Amazon Prime and then they say you get to watch free movies, get to share books, and get free two day shipping...how is it free if you're paying a yearly subscription??? Also, I initially had problems with the Netflix and Pandora apps. It said they were downloaded but they didn't show up in my Apps folder. So I tried re-downloading them and it wouldn't let me because it said they were already downloaded. I emailed customer service multiple times giving them the specifics of my problem and they kept sending me the same generic email that didn't help at all. This device would be nice if you were only planning and buying everything you downloaded through Amazon. Its not as compatible with other document formats as it says it is. PROS: Nice screen and speakers along with fast WiFi.
