I consider myself a connoisseur of heating pads as I use one daily, multiple times a day, for pain relief. However, rarely does one last me longer than a year so I've been on the search for the holy grail of heating pads with the perfect features, quality, and longevity. This is NOT it! Don't be fooled by all the great reviews. I was skeptical, but purchased it anyway and then returned it promptly! PROS Soft cover and a long cord. That's it. CONS Inconsistent heating. I kept checking to see if it had shut off because the temperature kept fluctuating. It never got hot, just warm. About 20 minutes before the timer was up it would start cooling down and get cold quickly. The heating elements don't extend to the edges. There's about 1.5-2" of "dead" space on all sides so you're not getting the full benefit of the large size. Why make such a big heating pad and then not fully utilize that space? There is no power indicator light on the controller so you don't know if it's on or off at a glance. The display lights up bright white when you turn it on, then dims to black on grey making it difficult to read and I kept trying to read it often to see what was going on because of the heating inconsistencies. I like straightforward controllers, but this one has too many steps to set every single time you turn it on. It doesn't remember your setting so it needs to be reset every time. The plug on the pad tends to pull the corner of the pad outside of the removable cover. I much prefer a solid, one piece quilted pad. I was definitely not impressed or happy with this pad.
