I reported the defect to Miele in writing (within warranty period), received confirmation that it is still on warranty; and now after it was repaired by authorized servicer they referred me to, the repair fee of almost $300 is requested. Now in order to honor the warranty. they (Miele) request that I should bring original receipt (from Miele) to be presented to them (Miele), even though the information about this unit is in the system. No fax number, no email to present receipt. Everything should be done by certified mail. Meanwhile I do not have my vacuum cleaner. In other words do not buy this unit from Miele through Amazon if you want your warranty honored.
