See this picture. I keep cleaning it but it keeps coming up. I assume this is the faulty release of the carbon material. The original filter that came with the unit didn't do this. Update (8/16): I contacted ZeroWater by email, first they claimed the product was not defective and blamed the shipping process claiming the carbon material must have been knocked loose during shipping, saying "while it is not pretty to look at, it does the job". I was not pleased. The product is defective if it can withstand the delivery process. It is unconscionable that the manufacture trying to pass the defective products to the customers. Reluctantly they agreed to send 2 replacements to me. I have no idea they would be doing the same thing when I start using them. The manufacture should be doing a recall, replacing all defective units free of charge.
