I received an Anova Precision Wifi for Christmas. I was super excited as I had been wanting one for along time. Was I ever disappointed. Not only is the app to control it atrocious, but it nearly burnt down my house. Using the Anova precision to cooker as directed something went wrong with the device causing a fire. When I returned home from work my house was filled with smoke and almost nothing was left of the Anova Precision cooker let alone the steak that I was cooking. A forensic fire inversrigator determined that the cause of the fire was a defect/fault in the Anova Precision Cooker. The fire resulting from the defect caused nearly 50k in damages to my house and property as a result of fire and smoke damage, to say nothing of the months that I have now spent fighting with contractors and the insurance company. The only bright spot of this experience was that by some miracle my dog survived being in a house filled with toxic smoke. If you choose to purchase and use this product I hope you have good insurance and that your premiums are paid. Buyer beware.
