I purchased this crock pot to make bone broth. I washed according to manufactures directions before use and didn't notice the ceramic glaze wiping off. As I was straining the first batch of bone broth I noticed it looked strange. I wiped the crock pot out with paper towels before washing and they turned completely black, the color of the stoneware cooking vessel. I didn't want to believe that all the time spent on the broth was wasted, so I wiped the inside again and again, each time the paper towel was coated black. There is no way that what ever the black substance was didn't leach into the bone broth. I will be returning this dreadful product.
