I bought 4 of these and put them in different places in house with peanut butter as the bait. I also put the "cheap" Victor snap traps with peanut butter and the glue board type of mouse traps I bought at the local hardware store with a piece of cheese in the middle in different places in the same rooms as the CaptSure Humane Mouse Traps. I had at least 3 different events where the mouse went into the CaptSure traps, ate the food and left without ever snapping the trap. In the same room the glue boards and Victor snap traps have now captured 5 mice in the last 4 days. Upon looking closer at the CaptSure traps they are not designed properly. The mouse would have to jump up and down on the back floor of the trap to set off the trap door. I even "greased" the spot on the door where it releases to make it more easy to snap shut, but that doesn't solve the problem with the design. So in head-to-head competition with several other mouse traps, these came in dead last for effectiveness. I now use them for a lure with the peanut butter inside and a glue board at the entrance to entice the mouse to step on the glue board and get stuck. Otherwise these are worthless.
