I bought 2 of these. Great size, and loud. I use it to call the kids in from the fields, and it worked great. BUT, the little plastic insert fell out somewhere after only using it for a couple of weeks. No plastic piece, no whistle. Not acceptable in an "emergency" whistle in my opinion. The one on my wife's chain is still working, but I don't trust them now. Great size, but if you are thinking to use these as an emergency product, make sure you have redundancy. Looking at an all metal whistle now, hope to find one that was as effective, but truly reliable.
