This purchase just goes to show that you can't always trust previous reviews. I purchased this for 2 feral cats hoping it would keep this warm and dry in the cold winter. The bottom piece was impossible to snap into place. The holes didn't line up correctly, and after trying to force it with a screwdriver in place, one of the black clips actually broke off. I live in a very rainy area, and with the bottom piece not being able to be securely shut, it created a gap for the rain to leak in through the bottom. I had to then place it at my front door entry, which is covered, as I didn't want the dampness to come through the bottom. Also, the door opening is so large, if this was placed outside, all the rain would come inside. But the biggest problem with this, that all the precious reviewers failed to mention, was all the condensation inside the interior dome. It was so damp, it soaked through the blanket I placed inside for them, completely wet, which goes completely against why I wanted a warm, dry home for them in the first place. I called the manufacturer Petmate, who told me, with the isolated foam, that was the reason for all the condensation, as it was designed to go directly outside in the rain. Which if I had done, the cats would still be wet from the gap on the bottom, all the leaking, and the huge open door. I would advise anyone to NOT buy this. I'm very disappointed, and with dealing with the Petmate rep. who was rude and dismissive with me. I read online where some people had taken large Rubbermaid storage bins, cut a hole large enough for the cats to get in, and add straw or blankets. I will try this instead!
