I've just packaged up this item for return/exchange for the third time. The first one I receieved had a tonearm that was not properly installed, resulting in headshell azimuth being way off. So I returned it to Amazon for exchange. The second one I received had a badly warped platter. At first, rather than return the item, I contacted the manufacturer. They sent me a new platter, free of charge. The only problem: the new platter was also warped, though not as badly as the initial one. So I contacted the manufacturer again and again they sent me a new platter, free of charge (though they were a bit less congenial about it the second time). The second replacement platter was also warped. At that point, I gave up and returned the item to Amazon for exchange. I just received the replacement turntable today and I didn't even finish unpacking it because: 1. I first installed and checked the platter and, yes, it was warped. I seriously considered just accepting it (since I simply can't afford a Technics SL-1200 and I guess this is the quality level one apparently has to accept at this proce point). But then I inserted the headshell and found that: 2. the azimuth was off. So it's back to Amazon. Maybe the fourth time will be the charm? Frankly, I doubt it. This manufacturer clearly has some serious quality control issues.
