I bought this fan for my bedroom, because it has a remote and I won't have to get up to turn it off and on. I'm a senior citizen, so things that make life easier are always good. However, after over an hour of trying to remove the locknut, so that I could put the fan together, I finally asked a young, strong man next door to help me. He couldn't get it off either. I called pelonis customer service, they said it should just screw off! No, it certainly doesn't screw off, or pull off, or come off any way at all! So I contacted Amazon to see if they could help. They suggested putting oil on it to try to loosen it; well, if holding the shaft with pliers while trying to get off didn't help, I can't imagine what will, so, no oil.. Now I have the difficulty of getting all of these items back into the box, while I await ups to come and retrieve it. I don't believe I will ever buy another pelonis product; once bitten, twice shy. Very disappointed, and frustrated!!
