I had the old incarnation of this Cuisinart hand blender for years. Finally I wore out the chopper and the mixing cup and decided that I should have one on standby because I use it at least a few times a week. So I opened it up the other day and tried to chop frozen bacon with it, which is something I did countless times with the old model. It broke the chopper bowl. First time out. Boo. Ended up with pieces of plastic in my bacon and a broken brand new unit. But THE WORST THING about this "new improved" unit is that they decided to include a safety switch. Which I think is okay, but they put it right on the top. Where you can't reach it. So how do you hang on to the mixing cup to pulse your mayo while also trying to work the safety button? See the picture. Often you need to pulse to get the right consistency, and to keep everything mixing well. This is a stupid "improvement". If they would have put the safety button on the side, where you can easily thumb it, it would have been okay. But as it stands I can't use it. I think I'm going to box it up and send it back.
