This thing leaks everywhere. DO NOT BUY. The new design (wide mouth) had me excited as that was my only complaint about the previous design. However, Perky-Pet wasn't careful enough in the mold. It's frustrating too because the flaw would be pretty easy to fix. With the old model, the pressure of the nectar coming out of the neck of the bottle was lower, as the small opening reduced the amount of pressure that it took to stop the flow of nectar into the red plastic base. This allowed there to be, say, 1 cm of nectar in the base at all times, with no overflow issues. With the new model, the pressure of the nectar coming out of the significantly wider neck is much higher, so it takes more nectar in the base before the pressure builds up to stop the flow of nectar out of the glass bottle. This results in there being more nectar in the base, say, 2 cm. This new, higher level of nectar in the base is above where the stems to the four flowers sit, resulting in overflow. Perky-Pet could have easily fixed this problem by simply raising the the level of the stems and not have them come out of the very bottom, which is a carry-over from the previous model. Very frustrating. The designers at Perky-Pet should be fired. I'm not even an engineer but I can figure this garbage out.
