Beachbody has stated in an article [titled: "Why P90X Results and Recovery Is Good, but Beachbody Performance Recover Is Better" which can easily be found using a search engine] that this supplement is basically not enough to satisfy the recovery requirements for their INSANITY and P90X workouts. They are suggesting that you purchase their new HYDRATE drink product as well to make up for the change to the RECOVERY formula. Personally $148 before taxes with auto-ship selected is quite pricey. Last time I bought R&R in 2014 it was $61 shipped for a 30 day supply. Now essentially the same product will cost you $222 for a 30 day supply. Unless you are filthy rich and don't care I would look for something different with a similar formula. They have a new 5 set of drink mixes that while they may be beneficial in their own unique way seems to defeat the purpose of a workout drink. I'm sure most people do not want to be mixing 5 drinks every day just to get rejuvenated. I have purchased the new orange flavor recover tub from Amazon.com to test out the taste and properly evaluate the difference between R&R and just the new Recover. The first thing I noticed when I went to mix the powder is that it takes about 3 times as much effort to mix the product in my blender bottle; which in turn makes more foam (air bubbles) accumulate. It does clump and stick to the sides but not as much as some of the higher protein based formulas I have used. The color is more pale and not as orange as the old R&R formula. That being said this actually has a much stronger vanilla flavor than orange in my opinion. The old R&R had a very distinct satisfying orange flavor to it and was more sweet. I will use the rest of the tub for my Insanity routine but I will most likely use a much cheaper supplement to finish out the training as I cannot justify paying soo much more for soo much less. I have added some photos to compare the difference in serving sizes as well.
