this item broke the very first time I used it. I cut the pieces smaller like other reviewers suggested, but that made no difference. the chopper part bent and finally broke after several attempts at chopping an onion. the slicer part, if that's all you need, works fine. but if it's advertised as a chopper, it needs to be strong and sturdy enough to hold up to that.
