This is the first time I have ever written a review and I felt like I really needed to do it to save the time and money of future buyers. My husband and I got this for our daughter who is 2 years and 3 months old. As much as she fell in love with the concept, it totally disappointed and frustrated her. Because all the super tiny pieces are plastic, they just slide around everywhere and the house itself just sits on top of the bottom half and doesn't even click or screw in. So, the 2nd story was constantly falling off with all the pieces included. Those 2 brown platforms you see in front of it do not attach either. They just slide against it, so the slightest touch will just knock it side to side, causing everything else to tumble with it. I gave 2 stars because the calico critters are super cute and soft to the touch, not cold and plasticky. Also, it comes with a battery pack that turn on lights in the house, a cool feature but the whole house is dysfunctional at least for a toddler. I saw a great review for the dollhouse, but it was bought for a 10 year old. Do yourself a favor and buy a high quality wooden dollhouse that you can pass down. If you're looking to buy one for a toddler, make sure the accessories are not too tiny and have some sturdiness to it. When it comes to children, the simpler the better.
