This is the third Hayward sand filter I have had in 7 years, I like the design and it works great until it splits at the seam up by the neck where the valve goes on, so this time I bought the extended warranty that was offered on Amazon, so the next time it splits at least I will get a new one paid for, 4 year extended after there one year runs out. The first picture shows where I cut out my old filter tank that split at the seem, the second picture shows how thick the plastic should be, almost a half inch. The third picture shows how thin it is at the seam 1/8 of an inch, that is where it splits, this is a quality defect Hayward needs to fix, the 4th picture shows how the plastic dips right at the neck allowing the pressure to split it, it does the same thing on both sides at the seam. The 5th picture I took before I cut it holding a flashlight to the outside and taking the picture on the inside, this shoes how thin the plastic is at the defect, if I can see all of this so can Hayward, they need to fix this defect!!!!
