My husband used a package of these for spaghetti last night and within 30-45 mins, we both broke out in hives all over our upper torso (him to a lesser degree than I did). After taking multiple rounds of Benadryl over the course of the next few hours and using a hydrocortisone cream to soothe the itching and burning, we went to bed confused as to what we had eaten that would have triggered this reaction. Woke up the next morning and no change. Since my reaction was literally 10x worse than his (I was also experiencing itching in my mouth, throat and ears), I sought out urgent care for same day treatment. They gave me tapered dose pack of Prednisone and told me to take a couple Zyrtec, neither of which have had any effect yet. I started thinking about the only other time that I ever experienced hives and recalled that I had one appear when I did an allergy skin test years ago...in reaction to MOLD. Putting two and two together, I pulled out the remaining package of these to check the expiration date...01-12-20 (see photo). Hmmm, but they look a little greyer than I recall them being when we first purchased them. So then I pull out a package of the fettuccini style to compare them to and found them to be the normal cream color I was used to seeing (see photo). I am posting this experience with the hope that it will prevent this from happening to others.
