BIC pencils are good, don't get me wrong. I have used BIC pencils in my classroom and enjoyed their great performance. This review is specifically to address the fact that you cannot find refillable erasers for this type of mechanical pencil. In my opinion, the fact that you cannot buy refillable pencil erasers actually makes these MORE expensive for the consumer in the long run because you end up throwing away more pencils and having to buy more replacements. While I understand that once the eraser runs out you can use stand alone erasers, the simple fact is that students do don't do this! They end up throwing them away and buying new ones. One, this is more costly, but also it is environmentally irresponsible as these pencils only add more plastic waste to our environment.
