For owners of older Piazza wanting info on the 2.0
I owned the original Piazza and it logged many miles with me. The durability, organization and functionality of that bag were 2nd to none. The only negative: the strap could irritate the neck when fully loaded. Our home was burgled and my bag, taken. The only Piazza currently available is the 2.0 and I chose Brushed Graphite as pictures made the fabric look "classier" than the original finish. PROS: Material is "nicer", RFID security and credit card slot additions, no ebags label on face. CONS: The front flap pocket is no longer divided into a cushioned pocket (phone) and larger pocket (chunky VW fob and chapstick). The key tether is no longer in this top section, it's now beneath the magnetized flap on the left hand side of the pocket and appears to have a shorter tether. You now need two hands, one to hold the flap up and another to use the key. It is also on the opposite side as the previous bag so you either need to change cross shoulders or twist your torso to reach a lock. The new "phone pocket" is located on the side of the bag closest to your body. Sure, it's harder for a thief to get to, but it's also harder for you to get to. You now need two hands for this as well, one to pull the purse away from the body and one to grab your phone. Previously, one bottle pocket had padding perfect for glasses. Not now. The two pouch pockets on the interior of the purse are now inside the front facing panel where before they were against the body. The interior zipper pocket is much shallower. Weight in the interior e-reader sleeve causes it to collapse into the center of the bag, blocking the main compartment. The adjustable strap is shorter on the 2.0. The design changes prove neither as organized nor functional as it's predecessor. Original style used bags are selling on ebay for 40.00. That speaks volumes. My advice to the design team, Keep: grey fabric, RFID, card slots. Ditch: reader sleeve. Bring Back: old front and interior pocket design, padded bottle pocket.
