None of the reviews I read discussed whether the refurbished ones were worth it - they're not. Don't ever purchase refurbished - this arrived today and does not work out of the box. "Unable to update fire tv stick" is the message I get. Followed the instructions (unplug are try amazon.com/devicesupport) both to no avail. Pay the extra $5 for new - it's well worth your time and aggravation. Will be sending this one back
