Painfully Tight...
I saw these in the Brookstone catalogue and thought they were a great idea. About a week later I stopped at the Brookstone inside Mohegan Sun and bought a couple sets...the white ones for myself, and a black set for my 4 year old son. I took the laces out of a pair of Chuck Taylor Converse I wear often and put these laces in...three in each shoe (I wear a women's size 6). They were SO tight! I had a lot of trouble even getting the shoes on because the elastic was so tight. I hoped that after a bit of wear they would loosen up, but they never did. Today, after two weeks of feeling like the tops of my feet were going numb from the pressure of these laces, I removed them and put my traditional laces back in. I have pretty small feet, especially whe compared to men. I can't imagine how uncomfortable these must be for men or woman who have larger feet and have to stretch these out even more. Maybe my converse were just too thin for this type of lace, and that's why they hurt, but they managed to make my favorite sneakers incredibly uncomfortable. I haven't yet tried them in any of my sons shoes, and I don't think I'm going to. Give 'em a try if you want, but for me, these turned out to be a complete waste of money.
