Gave up; didn't finish
The plot of this book is ridiculous. It's about a paranormal investigator who doesn't believe in anything paranormal. He volunteers to look into a local series of vampire murders, uninvited, unasked, with no police authority at all, mainly because he's attracted to the lead cop on the case. He spent more time staring at her breasts than actually asking her questions.
Then, he spends more time fooling around with his dogs and his buddies than actually investigating the case. In one particularly offensive scene, he and his friends spend the night at the local pub, talking about......the murders?
No, of course not. They're talking about the fact that black girls' va*inas "taste spicy". Their words, not mine.
That was when I sighed in disgust and rage-deleted the book. Never again will I read this author.
