I am an in home caregiver for two sweet little girls age 2 1/2 yrs and 19 months. Orderef the Melissa & Doug toy foods for them to play with, thinking “Well known brand = Great & SAFE toys”. Opened the set between week Christmas and New Years. Shocked to find the paint is CHIPPING off of some of the painted wooden fruit! This cannot be safe for young children! Noticed it two weeks ago. Have removed the pieces from play area. Questions and Concerns: What kind of paint used on a small child’s toy starts CHIPPING OFF within weeks of use in clean, dry play area? Where are these toys being made & painted? How has this gotten thru any Quality Control or Safety Checks???
