Soooo much foretelling of the disaster.
Having trouble finishing. Every other paragraph reminds us, in advance, that "this will not end well," and it's getting tedious.
...If only I'd done things differently, I look back on this time before the awful thing, I miss him so much, life is empty without him, we could have averted doom by staying in Switzerland, or this thing, or this other thing, but we didn't...
All as we the readers creep through the story leading up to the bad things.
I get it. Life sucks for the Kurds. Show more, talk less.
If it picks up I'll come back and mea culpa.
