Useless
I started taking Heliocare Advanced since I’m fair skinned with never ending freckles and moles. I liked the Advanced version due to the recent hype around Nicotinamide. I can’t stay that it’s really doing much, but possibly making my skin softer which is nice. However, the level of Nicotinamide (B3) in here is way too high. With two capsules you get a whopping 500mg - the upper tolerance I’ve seen in scholarly research studies is just 35mg! After reading about the delicate balance between definicency and nueral toxicity, the 500mg amount is not something I’m comfortable with long term. I understand it’s a water soluble vitamin but you can only filter out so much and we do not yet understand the long term implications of over supplementing like this. Anyway, I’ve been taking just one capsule a day since I’m still on my first bottle. If I continue, I may alternate the normal formula with the advanced one just to be safe. Hoping to see more skin benefits when I go out in the sun or else I may stop Heliocare altogether.
Update: got extremely sunburned while at a concert in the sun. I even had UPF 50 sunscreen on. This stuff is useless.
