Sound recording cut in and out and then died completely. Got a replacement and the battery no longer works after a few months.
Video is ok , But the sound recording is not working properly. It is silent most of the time and only records short amounts of sound. Here is a video that shows what I am talking about. A car pulled out in front of me, I almost hit it. Roads were wet and braking ability was reduced. I swerved and hit a curb. The impact of hitting the curb was loud but the camera recorded silence. The exterior of my car sustained minor damage from hitting the reflector in the median area. I am not sure about structural damage yet. After I turned my car around I was behind the car that pulled out in front of me. The camera was not able to see the license plate but I could read it with my own eyes. I read the plate number out loud so the dash cam would record my voice saying it but it recorded silence instead. The other car drove away. The radio was on the whole time, which you can hear in the video for a brief moment and then it goes silent again.
Edit: To be fair, the actual video quality of the camera is slightly better than what you can see in this amazon review video. Amazon apparently re-encodes the video with a lot of compression which reduces the video quality. Also The sound does not always malfunction. It seems that turning it off and then back on will correct the issue temporarily. This leads me to believe that there may be a software bug that happens after the unit has been running for a long time. My cars power outlet supplies power to the camera even when my car is turned off so the camera never turns off. I contacted customer support and they suggested that I reset the camera to factory settings and leave the settings on the factory defaults. They said if that doesn't fix it, I may need to have the unit replaced. As far as I know there is no setting that should cause the dash camera to only record 1 second of audio every 13 seconds. I should be allowed to use any settings besides the mute setting and still get sound. I reset the camera to factory defaults. I will wait a few days and then review some of the video files to see if it's recording sound properly.
Edit: Feb 17 2016
I just pulled some more footage from the dash cam. It's still not recording sound reliably using the factory settings.
Edit March 14, 2016
The dash cam no longer turns on. When I press the power button. The mic and the ok button become illuminated with blue light for a few seconds and nothing else happens. (Edit: Now it sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't) This started happening when the weather here in Florida began to warm up. I'm changing my review from 2 to 1 stars because this dash cam is now very unreliable in its current state. Will try to contact customer support.

I came out to my car today after work and found the dash cam dangling by its power wire and the screen was showing solid blue. The adhesive has separated from the plastic mounting plate that is supposed to stay attached to the inside of the windshield. I'm assuming the glue melted. Customer service has already sent me a new unit because of the other two problems listed above. They were very prompt so I will give them credit for that. I will install it over the weekend. I fear that this dash cam may not be able to tolerate high temperatures. It's only the beginning of spring In Florida and the temperature inside the car will be getting much higher as summer approaches.

Rexing sent me a replacement dash cam but the new one has the same problem with audio drop outs occurring after the dash cam has been powered up and recording for several days. It records 1 second of audio followed by 14 seconds of silence and then another 1 second of audio and the cycle repeats. I believe I can prevent the audio problems from occurring by simply turning the camera off and back on at the beginning of each day before I intent to use it, but this problem really should not exist in the first place. I've uploaded a video that demonstrates the sound recording problem.
Edit: 09/30/2016 Summary: The internal battery seems to be completely dead, and will not charge or hold a charge.
I upgraded to the latest firmware about a week ago and I pulled the latest video footage from the dash cam to see if it was recording sound. The good news is, It had sound(at least this time). The bad news is, The clock on the dash cam said January 02 2016 as well as all the files on the SD card. I went into the cam menu and set the correct date and time. I then turned the camera off and unplugged the power cable for a few seconds. When I plugged the power back in, the cam booted up and the date on the cam screen had reset back to January 01 2016. It seems the cams internal battery is no longer working and the cam apparently needs that battery to keep track of the time while it's not plugged in. I'm guessing my cam initially said January 02 because it had been turned on for 2 days since I last unplugged it to fix the sound issue. Now unplugging it causes a wrong date/time issue. I will have to use the on/off button on the camera itself now instead of unplugging the cord from the cars power socket to avoid loosing the time/date. If the cam ever gets unplugged I'll have to re-set the dash cam calendar/clock if I want it to be correct.
