RIDICULOUS AND FRUSTRATING
EDIT 7/23/2021 The lock is malfunctioning AGAIN! Won't lock automatically, codes entered don't work leaving folks locked out, and I'm about to pull this off and put my manual lock back in AGAIN! There doesn't seem to be a single number to contact if you need help so you can't immediately troubleshoot the issue. This lock has been far more bother than it's worth! EDIT 7/6/2021 The new lock arrived but wouldn't work so I just went back to my old manual lock and called it a day. The company reached out to me and offered to do a video installation with me to walk through the entire process, which we did. Had the same issues I did when I installed it on my own but we troubleshot it and got the lock working. Melody went above and beyond. I'm very pleased with the customer service. EDIT 12/13/20: The company reached out to me promptly with an offer to replace the lock. A new one is being shipped so the updated review to 3 stars is based on prompt customer service and the hope that the new, functional lock will arrive will arrive with equal promptness. Will update when it arrives. ***************************** EDIT 12/10/20: I ordered this lock in February. It is now December and the lock is malfunctioning. Codes don't work, the auto lock feature operates sporadically, and I've already had to replace the batteries once but am still getting an alert in the app saying the batteries are at 10%! It's been a massive pain in the butt having to run to open the door because folks can't get in. DO NOT ORDER THIS LOCK!!! I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews from folks who'd had this lock more than a week! ************************** I just installed this lock today. Let me save you some of the pitfalls that befell me! 1. There is a reset button in the back of the keypad that MAY need to be pressed in order for the lock to show up on your bluetooth. PRESS IT!!! Do not wait until you've installed the entire lock then have to disassemble to get at the button like I did. Let that be the first step of your install. 😒 2. The rod that extends from the keypad through the bolt to actually lock and unlock the door only has so much turn in it. Make sure that this rod is turned to the "unlocked" position BEFORE you slide it through the bolt or you will assemble the entire lock and then wonder why your deadbolt won't turn. Which will lead to having to disassemble the lock to fix the problem. Again. 😑 3. If you don't read this in time, and find that one of your screws in the base plate has become hopelessly jammed in the two-sided screw that's come loose from the repeated assembly and disassembly, there are mercifully extra screws in the box, a bolt cutter is only $20 at Home Depot, and you can return it immediately after you cut the &#*/$*! screw out in the parking lot. 🤬 4. Unless you live in a tiny house you cannot program this lock from the comfort of your bedroom where you've retreated for a restorative cup of tea once you FINALLY get the lock installed properly. No, you must be within 2 meters of the lock if you've opted for the bluetooth option. So that's fun! 🤨 I have no idea how well this lock will hold up since it just went in today. I'll come back and edit the review in a few months when I know more but for now, I do like it. Now I just need to repaint my front door from the imprint of the old lock 🙄
