Not good...
This is the first book by Jessica Sorensen I've read - so I haven't read the original YA version of this book, and even though most reviews say you don't need to read them first, I can't help but feel like I was missing something. But really, that's not even the main problem.
What. The. Heck. This was the most erratic book I've ever read. All over the place erratic. Vampires, werewolves, fairies, keepers, forseers, angels, demons, death walkers...I mean, what??? Pick a supernatural creature and stick with it!! Its like the author was trying to get all her ideas down on paper before she forgot them all and therefore never really finished a complete thought...or plot line...or sentence. Honestly, several times Gemma makes a point to tell Alex to stop beating around the bush, or tiptoeing around his explanation and I wanted to be able to tell the author the same thing. I have never been so frustrated reading a book...and NO, not the good kind of frustration. Even the intimate parts of the book were alarming because there was sure a lot of teeth crashing, and lip biting and blood drawing and frantic ripping and pulling and none of it in a good way...I seriously wanted to step in and give these two a little advice about how to kiss and make out without hurting each other. I don't know...I didn't get it. I don't know what all these 4 star reviewers were reading...just not my cup of tea.
and then ending. seriously WTF?
here it is in a nutshell
"okay Gemma give me five minutes to finally explain the point of this whole book and why I totally seemed like I kicked you to the curb for the 8 millionth time, only to have you pass out convinced you were dying, for the 4 millionth time, only to have you wake up in an unfamiliar room/bed/state for the 5 millionth time, and if you don't like what I say you can leave"
THE END!!
what??????????????????????? What a freakin' tease. I wouldn't read the next one if you paid me.
