I have been a Follett fan for many years but was very disappointed in this book. In fact I quit reading it when I was half way through. Follett seem to have written the book with a hatred against all things conservative--so much so that he has badly distorted America's journey through the civil rights era, through the Vietnam years, and beyond. He also seems preoccupied with sex to the point that I became weary of it. From my perspective, it is merely an historically inaccurate, dirty book.
