If you're squeamish, don't read this. I received this mattress today. Right out of the box there were clues this had been used. There was wear on the treads of the bed base. There were scratches on the frame. There was dirt on the carrying bag. The binding tape that was shown in the set-up instructions (like strapping tape - indicating the bed was newly packaged) was also missing. I set up the bed and took a closer look. There were black hairs on the bed (I'm a blonde)! And when I unzipped the mattress cover, there was a dead bug inside that looked like a bed bug in addition to more curly black hairs. There should clearly be a law that prevents manufacturers from reselling an item, especially a bedding item, that has been returned to the manufacturer. This was beyond unacceptable. Edit: I was contacted today (2/18) by a representative from SleepMaster who was extremely sensitive to the issue and offered to replace the bed for me immediately. I was very pleased with the professional and quick response. This was likely a product that was returned to Amazon and then returned into the supply chain by Amazon - a process that the manufacturer didn't really have control over (shame on Amazon!). Nevertheless, the rep explained that they will investigate the issue which I appreciated. I am looking forward to receiving the replacement bed and hope that it's new! Additional Edit: Pretty bad experience all-around. The "replacement bed" that SleepMaster sent to me was a much, much cheaper model with a simple foam mattress. This was not the same bed. When I called to inquire why I didn't receive the same bed, the company offered a pretty lame excuse. I had to return this "replacement bed" and just accepted a refund. The company had asked me to remove my negative seller review which I did because I thought they were sending me a new bed (the SAME bed I ordered). I usually don't have bad experiences on Amazon but this was one of the worst.
