I thought this would work for sure because many of the negative comments stated it would not handle a large pill. Our beloved cat needs a very small pill, which easily fits in the end of this syringe. He is strong and really struggles, so I put the syringe quickly in his mouth, pushed the plunger, and........the pill was still in the end of the syringe. The plunger just went around the pill....the path of least resistance. So, I did some research online and a vet suggested putting the pill in a small piece of butter, place the butter in the freezer for just a very short time until the butter gets stiff, not hard. This worked like a dream. The butter helps it (with the pill inside) to just slide down Calvin's (the cats) throat. And he likes the taste of the butter. Old methods are sometimes the best.
