This machine performed very poorly. I was better off when I was using a sharp kitchen knife. First, each slice of meat came out thin on one side and thicker on the other (see photos). This happened because the thin plastic tray that controls the thickness bends as the meat slides across it towards the blade. Second, at the end of the cut, the blade doesn't cut cleanly through the meat leaving a ragged edge on each slice (also visible in photo). Third, the thickness controller doesn't maintain its position - the early slices started deli thin but the later slices started at 1/4 inch or more. Fourth, and finally, bits of meat from the ragged edges got caught between the plastic components of the machine. Cleaning this was impossible without opening the case and exposing the wiring. I've already boxed up the machine to return it after one use. I cannot imagine that my experience was unique, because the problems are due to design flaws and inferior materials, but somehow there are tons of 5-star reviews. I call shenanigans.
