I am disappointed. Despite the numerous five-star reviews on Amazon.com and after reading two reviews stating black flecks appear when you blend water, I purchased this Vitamix with optimism that the unit I would soon receive would not have this issue. Unfortunately, as soon as I opened the box and assembled the unit, I poured filtered water from my Berkey water filter into it, blended it at high speed for approximately five seconds, then poured the blended water into a white bowl. There were so many small black flecks! I uploaded several photos so you can see for yourself. I alternated speeds and noticed when I blended water at a lower speed, despite the time spent blending, less flecks appeared. However, at no time, did no flecks appear - each time I blended, despite speed, flecks appeared. I am appalled as the images currently uploaded to Amazon were taken prior to my first usage of the product. The images I have attached to this email were taken after one week usage of my blender. I am so upset that even after a week of use, this is what I have been consuming daily in my smoothies. When I attempted to revise my review by uploading the new images below, Amazon would not go live with these images. Amazon.com and Vitamix Corporation should be aware of what their loyal customers are consuming via their products through selling as well as manufacturing. Although I have wanted a Vitamix for years based on the historically stellar reviews; after confirming this fleck issue, I now think less highly of Vitamix. ** Update: I exchanged this blender for the Breville Boss superblender and couldn't be happier.
