112 ppm is tap water quality
Second & third filter replacements.
(My email to aquagear customer service)
Hi,
Recently Im needing to pay attention to water purity. I have purchased a few of your filters in the past assuming the levels would be as claimed and remove 90+% of many impurities. I began testing the filtered water on the last 2 filters i've purchased from Amazon and both are yielding very poor water quality. I am dissapointed at what I found and need help researching if it's the filter or if the drinking water in St Petersburg Fl has suddenly become so contaminated that even your filter cannot remove the impurities.
After flushing new filter 1x for over 5min each, my results are as follows:
NOTE: PPM readings should be between 0-50ppm
4th Pitcher - 237ppm
5th - 246
6th - 177
7th - 203
8th - 240
9th - 236
10th - 2nd Flush = 230ppm
11th - 213
12th - 223
Hopeless.. So now I begin refiltering the previously filtered water from your pitcher...
13th = 239. Now I give up. These readings are horrible.
As a work around I've been buying Smart water that always test out around 22 ppm, which confirms the tester used is working properly.
First filter bought:
The filtered water tested out at 112 ppm where it should be BELOW 50. Defect or ripoff I'm not sure but this filter is radiculous.
Corrected rpm. I was reading it upside down. 112 is still too high for any filter.
Requested refund and bought smart water until I figure it out. Will probably buy 1 more time before I lick my $80 water wound.
