My wife and I purchased 13 of the Taylor's Assorted Specialty tea variety packs as Christmas gifts to include in our gift bags this year. We received them October 11, 2019 and the expiration date on the back says "Best By 01/2020. Unfortunately, we didn't discover this fact until we began assembling the gift bags on 12/15/2019. So, that means our family and friends will have about 4 weeks to sample 48 tea bags and not even at their peak freshness. Compare this with several boxes of Twinings Christmas Tea we purchased for Christmas 2018 which are good until August 24, 2021 and you can appreciate our frustration. Obviously, we are not planning on purchasing Taylor's Tea in the future based on this experience. Not sure who should have caught this error, but we won't make this mistake again. UPDATE: Many of you may be thinking that as the consumer the responsibility for checking the Freshness Date ultimately falls on me so I need to clarify: We purchased 1 box of this tea assortment at the end of September and the Best Before Date was 31.01.2021 (see picture above)... based on this experience we ordered another 12 boxes and when they arrived I didn't bother to check their Best By Dates. Still my fault, but somebody should be rotating this product so this won't be an issue in the future.
