MY STORY- my dad is an electrician, I had him come over to install these ring cameras into my previous doorbell. we did everything that it said and the circle wasn’t lighting up indicating that it was ready for set up, I called the 1-800 number and they were no help. We checked to see if the breaker tripped, reinstalled it, restarted the app, you name it. My dad checked to see if the transformer blew, it did. THIS CAMERA BLEW MY DOORBELL TRANSFORMER. he went to buy another one, we restarted the whole process and reinstalled the ring doorbell and it blew the brand new transformer! BRAND NEW! The issue is not my house. After reading all the reviews, I realized that even if I did get it set up that it wouldn’t connect with a regular doorbell chime. It has to be the RING’s doorbell chime. I REPEAT ONLY WORKS WITH THE RING DOORBELL CHIME WHICH IS SOLD SEPERATELY! **UPDATE: CUSTOMER SERVICE GOT IN CONTACT WITH ME AND I HAVE TO SAY, WITH ME AT LEAST, OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DEFINITELY KEPT ME A RING CUSTOMER, THANKS RING SUPPORT :) I believe they are sold as a bundle now.
