★☆☆☆☆
Badly designed
Even though this bag is made of decent quality material and seems to be well made, it has some fatal design flaws which make it unsuitable for regular cyclists. The biggest problem is that the expandable side pouches are only held on by one horizontal line of stitches which creates a structural weakness.(see picture) After only a few uses both side pouches have ripped at this stich. The worst part of this is this could easily happen as you are riding if the side pouch was to catch or get brushed by something. And since the side pouches are attached to the bag (and your bike!) solely by those stitches the entire pouch would get ripped off the bag and onto the street along with its contents. Another design flaw has been mentioned by others. The bag is held onto your rear rack by two Velcro straps on the bottom of the bag. Not only is this likely inadequate, it also means that it is a pain to put on and take off if you have rear fenders. (At least for me) One other design flaw I noticed is that the top handle is attached to the top of the bag alone. This means that if you are using the handle to carry the bag, its entire weight is being carried by the zipper. This also makes it difficult to open the bag and access its contents without putting it down. The bag comes with a strap which attaches to the bags sides, so this is not a fatal flaw. I would not recommend this bag for any cyclists unless the expandable side pouches were redesigned to eliminate the structural weakness. The other two problems can be worked around.
