So it's now coming out that all these EFAX drives have a recording technology called SMR. The only thing you need to know about that is that it's incredibly slow. I'm not allowed to return this even though they did not advertise anywhere that this drive has a significantly different (and massively worse) technology than it used to. If your WD Red drive advertises 256MB of cache, stay away!
