OK, I have played with this thing everytime I go into BestBuy ( Something I seriously suggest to anyone and everyone that is actually considering spending the 300clams on a fan ) and this thing doesn't push air anymore than I could by blowing on you. Its airflow flaw is in its design, yea it's cool that it pushes air without visible fan blades spinning around but, because it pushes air out of the rim it not only has a lack of air flow in its epicenter but that same lack of airflow makes it harder for the air moving from its rim to keep travelling and so inevitably comes to a halt VERY quickly, this is the reason it only has about a 3 foot reach on its airflow. For those that didn't understand what I just said, I have included a simple diagram that illustrates how the Dyson airflow system limits its airflow range. Note how the mass movement of air with the average fan creates less still air in front of the fan allowing the fan a longer reach.
