Don't waste your money on this recliner! This is about as cheap-quality recliner as you can get. I received this recliner today and could instantly feel the shoddiness when I took the two parts out of the box. The back(rest) and sides feel as though they have heavy cardboard inside. The seat is awfully hard and not comfortable at all. It feels as if you're sitting on a wooden chair with little cushioning. Perhaps it will soften in time, but your rear end will suffer in the meantime! Updated 11/12/12: When closing the footrest, it needs a very forceful push to close (if you're elderly and/or weak you might have a hard time); and when it does close, it makes a loud noise like 2 pieces of wood hitting. I've never had a recliner make this much noise when closing the footrest. If anyone lives on a floor below you, that person is going to get tired of hearing your footrest close. Updated 11/22/12: After about 2 weeks of use by a 140-lb person, the seat has permanent indentations where the user's rear and legs meet the seat. Clearly this chair is not designed for even moderate useage. Final Update 12/21/12: Recliner tossed into the dumpster!
